Open Source incoming

In the years since we stopped production there has been a continued interest in these parts being made available. Some hoping we have extra stock lying around, some looking to buy the files to make their own parts, some looking to buy the file for production and resale.

We realized we don’t enjoy running a business but we do enjoy helping the Datsun community! We also want these parts to remain available. We enjoy these parts on our cars and know they are a valuable addition to the meager aftermarket options we have for our beloved cars.

And so we have decided to work towards making all of our production file open source with download links here on the ol’ JBC website. This will take a little time but we are actively working to get the files available. Once we have our products available, we will also look at some of our half done projects, failed products, and general data collections to see if there is other useful information to make available.

Download of all files will be free and available to anyone. A tip link is available, if you want to make a contribution to help keep this website open and keep our motivation up to keep it updated with our latest project files.

A bittersweet announcement:

After 8 years making parts for these rigs, we have decided to no longer manufacture products. Between family, personal projects, work, and other distractions we just don’t have the time to keep up with business. Plus, Sam was a jerk and moved across the country.

We’re super grateful for all the support over the years, and it has been a truly awesome experience.

We’re not disappearing instantly and will be here to answer questions on our products that you may have yet to install.

After all we still love talking about Datsun’s.

If you’re thinking “I was just about to buy a rack and pinion kit”, don’t worry. We sold nearly 200 of the crossmembers over the years and have only seen maybe 40 of them go in cars so there are MANY still out there in the wild sitting on shelves.

Just gotta go find them.

Everything in stock on the website is still there for purchase and once it’s out, it’s done.

At JBC we are driven by our passion for performance vehicle design.
This is why we choose to spend our spare time between day jobs and personal lives in the tireless pursuit of better performance.  

We believe that a vehicle is a dynamic system where each component must function in unison for the best overall result. With this understanding, we seek to develop a comprehensive suspension system that is purposefully designed with components that not only function together but compliment and improve one another.

We strive to base our designs on data and measurement before aesthetics and convenience. Our designs incorporate proven theories rather than common rules of thumb. We research and test so that our parts give the user great performance as installed, with the ability to fine tune. Rather than giving the excessive adjustability and relying on user setup.

In the end we just hope you enjoy our parts as much as we do.
